What this record covers

Modern division titles are checked when the site administrator refreshes the records for “Dangerous Dogs”, “XL Bully” and “breed specific”, together with additional divisions verified by the site editor. Amendments can sit within wider bills, so this is a selected catalogue, not a complete voting history. A debate, petition or unopposed decision does not necessarily produce a named vote.

Aye and No describe the particular question put to Parliament, not an overall position on dogs or the Act. Tellers are identified separately. No vote recorded does not establish absence or abstention.

Last successful modern update: 2026-11-03T00:25:42+00:00. Records are refreshed manually; newer votes may not yet appear.

Modern divisions in this catalogue

No modern divisions were returned by the configured searches and additional IDs at the last successful refresh. This does not mean there were no relevant votes.

HISTORICAL HANSARD / 1991

Dog registration: the proposed new clause.

The proposed clause required regulations for registration, identification and control of dogs not otherwise regulated by the Bill. Aye supported giving this new clause a second reading; No opposed it. It was defeated. This was not a vote on the whole Act or simply a vote for or against breed-specific legislation.

Ayes 260 · Noes 303 · Clause defeated

Sitting dated 10 June; division at 12.59 am after midnight. Recorded question: “That the clause be read a Second time.”

This verified import covers one division from the Bill’s committee proceedings. It is not a complete account of the Act’s passage. Names and constituencies are reproduced as published; the archive warns that its text may contain typographical errors. Party labels use date-specific Parliament membership histories where identities can be verified; they do not use the MP’s current party. Unmatched entries remain explicitly unverified.
